Mondes nouveaux and the Beaux-Arts de Paris have entered into a unique partnership to encourage exchanges between artists from the School and the programme's prize-winning creators, whose productions will be presented to the public during a major artistic event from 11 to 16 April.
Since January 2023, some twenty New Worlds artists have been sharing their visions with the workshops and students of the Beaux-Arts de Paris. The original works that emanate from them will be presented alongside a hundred or so works by New Worlds artists. Disciplines will mix, as will generations, for dance performances, concerts, puppets, public workshops, discussions between artists, readings, exhibitions, film screenings...
This meeting between the creators of Mondes nouveaux and the students and teachers of the Beaux-Arts de Paris opens up new artistic frontiers and offers a portrait of the times: thinking about the climate emergency, the place of the individual and the relationship with others, the resonance of the past with the present and the use of ancient know-how, the questioned identity...
Several areas of the Beaux-Arts de Paris will be used for the occasion: the glass courtyard, the beating heart of the event, the amphitheatre, the Chapelle des Petits-Augustins, the Chimay garden and the courtyard of the Mûrier.
The scenography of the glass courtyard, conceived during workshops with students from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, was designed by the artist and designer Olivier Vadrot, winner of the Mondes nouveaux programme, as a set of modular and adaptable wooden constructions, which can be dismantled and redeployed for a more sustainable and eco-responsible use. This scenographic device was first put in place for Crush and has been reconfigured and equipped with lighting with the support of Flos, to accommodate Mondes nouveaux X Beaux-Arts de Paris and will be redeployed for the graduation of 3rd and 5th year students from June to September 2023.
With events to be held in the Cour vitrée, Cour du Mûrier, Jardin Chimay and the Amphithéâtre d'Honne
A publication on the entire New Worlds Programme has been produced by the Beaux-Arts de Paris in partnership with the Centre des Monuments nationaux and the Conservatoire du littoral.
The book is introduced by an interview between Rima ABDUL-MALAK and Bernard BLISTÈNE.
Each artist, designer, author and composer will have his or her project presented on a double page, with colour reproductions of the creations.
A special section will be devoted to the artistic event Mondes nouveaux X Beaux-Arts de Paris.
