Les vies silencieuses : dessiner l’objet

Silent lives: drawing the objects

Course details

Guided technical drawing course, aiming to develop the eye and the hand, to adapt one's line to the subject. Thanks to the understanding of a volume, a material, shadows and lights which constitute the object to be interpreted, the objective is to go towards a realistic representation with the pencil of a selection of particular and diversified objects.

Starting from the specific character of each object (shape, material, roughness, opacity, mass, etc.), each participant will be led to adapt his or her perception and practice of drawing in new ways.

After a short introduction to an artist and his or her drawing practice, each student will be given an object and will then try to decipher it on paper: choice of the angle to be treated, highlighting and layout on paper, reading and managing proportions, construction, simplification and work on the line, addition of shadows and lights thanks to academic techniques (hatching/greying/blurring). The end of each class will be dedicated to a convivial moment to exchange on the drawings of each one.
