Une jeune fille se retrouve confrontée à l'absence d'un être cher. Entre les espaces vides que cette personne a laissés derrière et les souvenirs qui surgissent, elle entame un voyage introspectif.
Long Life est un court-métrage inspiré du tableau éponyme de Marlène Dumas, explorant l’acceptation du deuil. En plongeant dans la réminiscence des souvenirs, le film apporte une réflexion sur l’attachement de la vie liée à la frayeur extrême de la perte, ainsi que sur notre humanité face à un destin commun. Des objets, des gestes anodins deviennent des traces silencieuses oscillant entre nostalgie et désir d’avancer. Le personnage principal cherche non pas à effacer la douleur, mais à lui donner un nouveau sens, à trouver une façon d’aller de l’avant sans oublier.
Ce film a été réalisé à partir de scan 3D, procédé permettant de reconstruire un objet ou un environnement en 3D à partir d’une série de photographies prises sous différents angles. Ce choix de médium permet de créer une couche émotionnelle caractérisée par son aspect imparfait et s’inscrit dans une expérimentation onirique.

Long Life is a short film inspired by Marlène Dumas' painting of the same name, exploring the acceptance of grief. By delving into the reminiscence of memories, the film reflects on the attachment of life to the extreme fear of loss, and on our humanity in the face of a shared destiny. Anodyne objects and gestures become silent traces, oscillating between nostalgia and the desire to move forward. The main character seeks not to erase the pain, but to give it new meaning, to find a way to move forward without forgetting.
The film was made using 3D scanning, a process that enables an object or environment to be reconstructed in 3D from a series of photographs taken from different angles. This choice of medium creates an emotional layer characterized by its imperfect appearance, and is part of a dreamlike experiment.
