The proposal by François Toison, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris 2024 and student in the Fresco & Art in Situation programme, was chosen for a new covering for the reception bungalow and the outside gatehouse.

‘This project consists of displaying Delaroche's large painting of the amphitheatre d'Honneur over its entire surface. The image has been reworked using halftone screens, an image treatment used in various printing techniques, particularly screen printing. This treatment allows the image to be read in two stages. When visitors arrive and are close by, they will see only an abstract graphic composition made up of blue dots. Only when they stand back and move around the School will they be able to make out the entire composition. This proposal is a way of highlighting an iconic element that symbolises the École's heritage, while reworking it to evoke more contemporary practices.
