Nina Jayasuriya lauréate du Prix Sisley - Beaux-Arts de Paris pour la jeune création

Nina Jayasuriya wins the Prix Sisley - Beaux-Arts de Paris for young artists

Nina Jayasuriya, who graduated with honours from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2023, is the winner of this prize, which was created 5 years ago. She will receive a cash prize and an exhibition at the Trois/Cinq Friedland in June-July.
Her artistic practice enables her to reveal the ambivalence of her Sri Lankan, Spanish and French cultural heritage, with objects that coexist within installations revealing a Here and Elsewhere and the inevitable transformations of traditions.  Her use of ceramics allows her to question our contemporary relationship with objects while repeating the archaic gesture of modelling clay. She creates installations in which craft, ritual and care suggest a world of contemplation and well-being that she likes to call "space-temple".

Sisley's sponsorship has also made possible the Via Futura programme, set up by the Beaux-Arts de Paris at the start of the 2023 academic year, to help students and young graduates develop their professional skills.
