The City of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, Beaux-Arts de Paris and Audencia have signed a partnership centred on an ambitious educational and community-focused project: to collectively envision the conversion of the Paul-Chemetov Ice Rink, an iconic building in Saint-Ouen’s heritage, into a cultural venue.
At the heart of this partnership lies a shared conviction: students have a key role to play in transforming cities, by bringing fresh, creative and interdisciplinary perspectives to the major urban challenges of today.
Fourteen students from the ‘Fresque & Art en situation’ course at Beaux-Arts de Paris and 18 from Audencia’s Master of Science in Public Policy and International Cooperation worked together in six teams to design the new concept for the Paul-Chemetov Ice Rink.
The aim is to turn it into a new hub of cultural, social and economic attraction – regarded as a flagship for the city and the region. At the crossroads of art, public policy, economics and urban planning, the students worked on proposals that integrated artistic, social, environmental and heritage dimensions alongside the site’s economic model.
