Dialogue - Paolo Roversi & Olivier Saillard

Paolo Roversi is a self-taught, independent photographer. He is famous for photographing with a camera equipped with a polaroid back, which allows him to instantly obtain an original enlargement. All the major magazines publish his fashion series, nudes and portraits of stars.

Olivier Saillard holds a degree in art history. In 1995, he was appointed director of the Marseille Fashion Museum; in 2000, he became responsible for the programming of "Fashion" exhibitions at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and, in 2010, director of the Palais Galliera, the Paris Fashion Museum. Since January 2018, he has been the artistic, image and cultural director of the J.M. Weston fashion house. He is the author of several books, including an Ideal History of Contemporary Fashion (Textuel, 2009) and major exhibitions, such as "Yohji Yamamoto juste des vêtements", "Christian Lacroix. Histoire de vêtements" at Arts Décoratifs; "Azzedine Alaïa", "Jeanne Lanvin" at the Palais Galliera; "Madame Grès. La couture à l'œuvre", "Balenciaga, l'œuvre au noir" at the Bourdelle Museum and, more recently, "Le musée éphémère de la mode" at Palazzo Pitti in Florence. In 2005, Olivier Saillard was the laureate of the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto. Since then, in parallel with his work as an historian, he has been carrying out a poetic reflection presented in the form of performances - The Impossible Wardrobe, Eternity Dress and Cloakroom with Tilda Swinton; Models Never Talk; Over-Exposure with Charlotte Rampling and, again, Tilda Swinton; Couture essentielle. In 2018, he created his first collection of haute couture tee-shirts "Moda Povera".
