Nuria Mokhtar
Ya Tuways
Performance
30 minutes
Ya Tuways is a series of letters, a one-way epistolary relationship between the author and a poet who lived between the eleventh and twelfth centuries in the Arabian Peninsula.
In a non-linear narrative that moves from the anecdotal to the historical and blurs the boundaries of language and register, a sisterly and increasingly intimate relationship develops between Nour and Tuways. As the author explores the contemporary transfeminine experience, we gradually come to understand who Tuways was, this forgotten artist of non-conformist gender who lived in the early days of Islam.

Recollection tea time (2)
Performance
between 20 and 30 minutes
What to do with the remnants of a past relationship? How do you literally assimilate and digest the brutality of a break-up? In Recollection tea time (2), Yasmine Louali explores possible ways of reappropriating the emotional trajectories that have eluded us, by ingesting the evidence that embodies them.
The artist collects traumatic images from the intimate accounts of various people, then prints them on food paper before ingesting them. (text by Mathilde Badie)
