Amphithéâtre des Loges

14 rue Bonaparte, 75006 Paris

ENTRÉE LIBRE

Filmmakers and artists from around the world have formed Some Strings, a collection of original filmic gestures that originated in Palestine, where poet and professor Refaat Alareer was targeted by Israeli strikes, along with seven members of his family. In his last poem, If I Must Die, published five weeks before his assassination, Refaat Alareer asks those who must live to create a kite – a long-standing symbol of resistance – with pieces of string. Some Strings has inherited this legacy.

It brings together as many perspectives as there are geographical, artistic and political territories "so that trauma does not lose its social power to create bonds that do not yet exist, communities without limits or borders". Some Strings continues to be broadcast in more than 50 countries.

Film screening followed by a discussion with Narimane Mari and Corinne Castel, on the initiative of Some Strings, as well as with several filmmakers who will share their creative experiences. An evening programmed with Julie Courel, head of the video database at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
