Ségolène Liautaud holds a Ph.D. in contemporary art history from Sorbonne University and is a research associate at the André Chastel Center. Her dissertation, defended in 2022, is titled *The Camera Eye: Photography, Film, and Video in the Work of Michelangelo Pistoletto (1958–2021)*.

Since 2024, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the École du Louvre, where she is developing the research project *Transformation of the Image: Photography, Film, and Video in Italian Art (1960–1970)*. Her research focuses on art and photography, intermediality in the 20th and 21st centuries, the theory and history of video art, experimental and performative art films, the history of the conditions of creation, delegation, and collaboration, and issues of feminism and gender.

Previously, she spent six years as a researcher on the “Emergence of Video Art in Europe” program at Paris 8 University and ECAL in Lausanne. She has taught at Sorbonne University, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Gustave Eiffel University, and the École du Louvre.
