Program overview

The Hérodote program was created in 2017 at Beaux-arts de Paris to enable artists in exile to reconnect with the world of art and higher education.

It is aimed at young artists who have already begun art studies in their home country or who have an active artistic practice.

For one year, the program offers intensive training in French (FLE) for 3 hours a week, art history (in English) for 1.5 hours a week, tutoring by one or two students for one hour a week, access to certain theory courses and NABA art practice courses (amateur courses offered by the Beaux-arts). Workshops and one-off meetings are organized throughout the year to help students reflect on their study or professional projects. An annual exhibition is also organized to showcase the students' work.

The aim of the program is to enable students to acquire a command of the French language, and to help them integrate more easily into higher education in the arts or culture.

It awards a school diploma but is not part of the Beaux-arts de Paris curriculum and does not give access to workshops or guarantee entry to the Beaux-arts curriculum.
