Lucie Antoinette and Nina Jayasuriya, graduates of the Beaux-Arts de Paris, are joining the new ‘Pôle Émergence’, dedicated to young talent, created by the Mennour gallery.
Winners of the first edition of the eponymous programme, launched in November 2023, the 2 artists will soon have a solo exhibition at Mennour, Paris.
Born in 1993, Lucie Antoinette lives and works in Paris. In a neo-symbolist vein, her acid-coloured paintings conjure up dreamlike landscapes, a lost paradise to be reclaimed or preserved. She is a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris - Atelier de Tim Eitel and the Beaux-Arts de Nantes. In 2023, she completed a residency at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin.
Born in Paris in 1996, Nina Jayasuriya lives and works between Paris and Sri Lanka. Her artistic practice reflects on the use of everyday objects, the exploitation of sacredness and the reappropriation of heritage, in an ongoing elaboration of personal environments and myths. She graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2023 with honours, and won the Prix Sisley - Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2024, opening her first solo exhibition on that occasion.
