Viewpoint visit with Hélène Delprat, artist, and Valérie Sonnier, artist and teacher at the Beaux-Arts.

Hélène Delprat is an artist, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris and a former studio head. Her polymorphous practice explores the human condition, life and death. Her work encompasses painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video, theatre and installation, combining references to literature, cinema, history and philosophy. Hélène Delprat is represented by the galleries Christophe Gaillard and Hauser & Wirth, Paris.

Valérie Sonnier is a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris and has taught drawing and morphology at the school since 2003. Using a variety of media - drawing, painting, photography and super8 film - she unfolds a universe exploring the links between intimate memories and the collective memory of childhood, notions of presence and absence, and ghostly apparitions.

She was awarded the Prix Château Kirwan at the BAD+ fair in Bordeaux in 2024.

Performances

Lisa Lecuivre and Simon Deterre, Maman ?

‘By studying the body of work in the exhibition, Lisa Lecuivre has created her own theory:
Everything has been written. It's her mother drawn in charcoal by the artist Etcheverry!
‘She feels it. Etcheverry, her mother, 1888, the Beaux-Arts, it's all connected’.
In reference to Etcheverry's charcoal from 1888.

A 15-minute performance co-written with Anne Rigollet and Simon Deterre.

Lisa Lecuivre is in the studios of Dove Allouche and Julien Prévieux; Anne Rigollet is in Julien Prévieux's studio; Simon Deterre is in Dove Allouche's studio.
