Kader Attia is one of the most internationally renowned contemporary artists. A sculptor, photographer, and video artist, he has been creating a powerful and socially engaged body of work rooted in philosophical thought since the 1990s.
With his dual Algerian and French cultural background, he is one of the first artists of his generation to examine the consequences of colonialism. Having acknowledged the existence of the “wound,” he has developed the concept of “reparation,” which he revisits during his conversation with theorist Jacinto Lageira, who wrote the foreword to the book *Wounds, Reparations, and Traces*, published by the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
As a guest artist at the Louvre Museum from 2024 to 2026—where an exhibition is currently dedicated to him—Kader Attia delivered three keynote lectures as part of this residency, which are also the subject of a publication. This second book features an introduction by Donatien Grau and is co-published by the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Louvre Museum.
The event will be followed by a book signing for both volumes.
