Supported by Cercle Chromatique, the Arts division of the Arborescences association supports long-term artistic projects created in collaboration with trees and other species, based on the discovery of different environments.
"Being in the forest invites us to enjoy a sensory experience, where all our senses can be awakened. A sense of wonder is the first step towards a desire to learn about biodiversity and forest inhabitants, and to take care of them. The diversity of artistic practices, visual arts and performing arts revives gentle, close relationships with nature. They bring hope and a life more in harmony with non-human living beings.
The Arts division's mission is to support artistic projects that take the time to establish themselves over the long term, co-created with trees and other species and based on the discovery of new environments. We believe in art that listens to the sounds of living things, that documents and raises questions.
Exhibitions, outdoor installations, live performances: physical encounters with works of art can raise awareness of the relationships within the plant world. Let us forge new alliances between art and the care of trees, plants and the creatures that inhabit forests. Let us encourage fruitful encounters and place our trust in projects that emerge and evolve through exchanges with people from different professions and disciplines. In a world undergoing transformation and transition, artists are sounding the alarm, enlightening us and allowing us to imagine a sustainable future. They reveal the state of forests and trees, their fragility and the imbalance resulting from the environmental crisis."
