Atravessemos! - Portrait de la ville de São Paulo is part of the series of city portraits developed by Emmanuelle Huynh and Jocelyn Cottencin since 2016.

A journey through gestures, movements and stories, of a monster city, a river... 21 million inhabitants, over 150,000 hectares of surface area. An urban expanse. An endless variation of greys. Communities. Fractures. Dances. Music.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the death on 6 May of Monique Poncelet, the first woman professor at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.

Born in 1931, Monique Poncelet began her career as a student in Jean Souverbie's studio before becoming the first woman professor at the Beaux-Arts de Paris in the late 1960s. After a year as head of the painting studio in 1967, Monique Poncelet was appointed professor in charge of the drawing studio and taught there for some twenty years until 1988.

The students and curators in the 'Artists & Exhibition Professions' programme are presenting autohistorias, a group exhibition inspired by Gloria Anzaldúa, a Chicana feminist theorist, activist and poet. In an unpublished text, she proposes writing as a way of defining oneself through theory, fiction, mythologies, linguistic games and poetry. Through individual stories and fiction, it is a question of constructing a collective narrative, conceived as an alternative tool to the dominant narratives.

The second "publishing fair" co-organised by La Fab. and students from the printing/publishing department of the Beaux-Arts de Paris on 17, 18 and 19 May.

Artist Apolonia Sokol, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris, is known for her political stance on portraiture. During this meeting, she will talk about the film portrait - Apolonia, Apolonia - recently released in cinemas, which director Léa Golb devoted to her over a period of thirteen years.

From her studies at the Beaux-Arts in Paris to the recognition of her work, the destinies of Oksana Shachko, one of the founders of Femen, and of the director, are also mirrored in Apolonia. A sorority with three faces, facing the test of today's world.
