A third-year student at Beaux-Arts de Paris, Ingrid Portal is the winner of a third call for projects organised by the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with Beaux-Arts de Paris, as part of the restructuring of its Parisian premises across three sites: Rue de Valois, Rue des Bons-Enfants and Rue des Francs-Bourgeois.

Les Voies du regard is a vast mural stretching across the two walls of a 110-metre-long underground corridor, leading to the ministry’s training rooms and the Sonia Delaunay Council Chamber, where the Acquisitions Committee of the French Museums Service

Eleven artists who graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris are undertaking a two-month research and production residency at POUSH – Portes de Paris in Aubervilliers, in partnership with Beaux-Arts de Paris.

This residency, which began on 16 March and will run until 22 May 2026, forms part of a postgraduate ‘professional practice’ programme. The artists have access to a shared workspace of over 200 m², as well as support from curator Raphaël Brunel.

Rémi Marcel, a fifth-year student in Tatiana Trouvé’s studio, is receiving critical guidance from Oulimata Gueye, guest curator of this sixth edition, as well as production support to create an art installation that will be presented at Saint-Eustache Church next October. He will present an installation comprising two half-columns modelled on those of the church, one being the imprint of the other, like an archaeological relic. The installation represents the process of germination: from seed to fruit, from an underground life towards the light. This journey is rendered partially visible.

Lauren Laz has been unanimously selected by the jury and appointed Director of the Artworks Department at Beaux-Arts de Paris. A historian of modern art and a specialist in prints from the French School, she will take up her post on 1 April 2026. We wish her a warm welcome!

As director of the Angladon-Dubrujeaud Foundation, which manages the Avignon museum, since 2015, she has conceived and organised numerous exhibitions there.

Congratulations to Ibrahim Meïté Sikely, who graduated with honours from Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2025 future resident at Villa Medici for 2026–2027, alongside Neïla Czermak Ichti.

“During this residency, we hope to develop and establish a shared visual practice. For several years now, we have been nurturing the idea of creating an illustrated book, conceived, painted and written by us.”

For the seventh consecutive year, the law firm Gide invited students and recent graduates from the School to create a series of three short films, to be shown throughout the year on the giant LED screens at the firm’s headquarters in Paris (8th arrondissement). Forty-seven candidates responded to this call for projects, which were assessed by a jury comprising representatives from Beaux-Arts de Paris and partners from Gide, to finalise a selection of projects reflecting the diverse approaches to visual arts within the School.

Viktoriia Oreshko, a painter who graduated in 2025 with honours, is the winner of the 7th edition of the Sisley x Beaux-Arts de Paris Prize for Young Artists.

This prize, co-created by Sisley and Beaux-Arts de Paris, aims to promote emerging talent. To support the artist in her future projects and the launch of her career, Sisley is awarding her a grant and dedicating an exhibition to her next June at its Paris headquarters as part of its Trois Cinq Friedland cultural programme.

Thirty secondary school pupils from around twenty schools across the country were selected to take part in this programme, created in 2007 by the Culture & Diversity Foundation to help them prepare for entrance exams to art and design schools.

During this first week-long course at the School, the artistic practice workshops invited participants to develop a piece based on a work from Beaux-Arts de Paris collections. Each studio head involved developed a specific proposal related to this work, combining an original approach with reflections informed by art history.

On Friday, 20 February 2026, Beaux-Arts de Paris hosted an inter-school professional day, organised in partnership with École des Arts Décoratifs – PSL and École nationale supérieure d'art de Paris-Cergy, aimed at young graduates.

Designed as an opportunity for discussion and networking, the aim of the day was to support the transition from school to the professional world by offering practical tools and opportunities for dialogue on contemporary artistic practices.
